Triton Grad: Champion and Author
By Mark Matthews @ 12:49 PM :: 791 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Triton News

I am reading it now, and it is interesting to read in the early chapters about references to Triton, or visiting Bellmawr to challenge the local kids to break dancing competitions.

Half way through the book it is all about fishing.... but even if you aren't into fishing it is still an interesting read.  Its amazing to read about the efforts that he (and other Champions) go to, to study and prepare for the next challenge.  I think in almost everything there is a big difference between putting a hook on a string versus studying satellite photos of fishing competition areas... and Mike does a great job explaining what it took to bring this South Philly attititude, Runnemede raised kid into the top of a quieter, slower paced southern dominated sport.  The next time you think "oh... that looks easy, I can do that"... think of this book.

Mike gained a lot of attention not only for his success, but for his atty-tood!   While others in the champion Bass Fishing circles are quietly fishing in a slower, Southern manner....  Mike will run around the boat, yelling at the fish, and celebrating his big catches!

Great article about Mike and his style:   http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/103-06022005-497128.html

Book is available here... very cheap

For the record, I don't know Mike.  I saw an article about him and then bought his book.  Nice to see a local Triton grad done good for himself.  ;-)
